The field is set for the Shreveport Mayor's race. Ten candidates are in the running for the office.

The election is November 6th with the runoff scheduled for December 8th.

Five of the candidates are considered contenders:

Steven Jackson. Lee O. Savage, Jim Taliaferro, Ollie Tyler and Adrian Perkins. Tyler, of course, is the incumbent. Savage and Taliaferro are Republicans.

The others in the running are Anna Marie Arpino, Tremecius Dixon, Kenneth Krefft, Jeron Rogers and John Paul Young.

The candidates have already hit the ground running with the first forum set for tonight.

The first Mayoral Forum is set for tonight at 421 Lake Street at Agora Borealis. This event is sponsored by New Leaders Council and Heliopolis Magazine. It's from 5:30-7:30 and the public is invited. The focus of the event is on three topics: vision and leadership, crime and the economy.

KEEL News will also host a Mayoral Forum. More details will be announced in the next couple of days.
