A local man faces a long list of charges -- following a brief foot chase in west Shreveport. Just after 4 yesterday afternoon, officers attempted to stop a 2007 Chrysler in the 4000 block of Powell Street -- after they saw the driver wasn't wearing his seatbelt. As they were pulling the car over, the driver bailed out and took off on foot. A short time later, members of the police department's Community Response Unit tracked down the man, identified as 28-year-old Morocco Porter. After an investigation, officers located a .40-caliber semi-automatic handgun, 24 grams of suspected crack cocaine and about 15 grams of suspected marijuana. Those items -- along with over $600 cash -- were seized. Porter was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on multiple charges.
