Shreveport Police Department continues its efforts to remove illegally possessed firearms and narcotics from the streets.

Back in February, the Shreveport Police Department’s Warrants Unit and Violent Crimes Abatement Team (VCAT) responded to a residence on Kennedy Drive to execute an arrest warrant for Chaddrick Phillips in connection with a firearms violation.

While inside the the home, SPD Officers observed suspected contraband in plain view. Investigators obtained a search warrant for the home. During the search, Officers seized suspected marijuana, a .223-caliber pistol, a .38-caliber revolver, and a bullet-proof vest.

As a result of the investigation, additional charges of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute and Illegal Carrying of a Weapon with a Controlled Dangerous Substance are pending.

Phillips was arrested yesterday, on multiple charges, including crimes involving a machine gun, weapons, and narcotics. He was also found to have outstanding warrants for Aggravated Burglary, Aggravated Flight from an Officer, Resisting an Officer with Force or Violence, and additional offenses.

From SPD:

"The Shreveport Police Department remains committed to identifying individuals who illegally possess firearms while engaging in criminal activity and holding them accountable."
