Shreveport Man Found Guilty of Domestic Violence Sentenced
A Shreveport man gets a lengthy sentence for domestic violence involving choking.
24 year-old Nakadrian Oshee Sanders was found guilty of domestic violence last month and a Judge handed down a pretty harsh sentence this week. Sanders beat his live-in girlfriend back in September of 2024 and strangled her until she went unconscious.
Sanders was sentenced to 25 years behind bars due to a Louisiana Revised Statute that went in to effect back in 2024 at the time of his crime. It's a law that sees strangulation as horrifically dangerous attack, and domestic abuse battery strangulation, resulting in serious bodily injury now carries a penalty of 5 to 50 years in prison.
It was said in court that Sanders pushed his girlfriend against a wall and choked her until she passed out. It was said that the force of the choking was so hard that his girlfriend no longer had her feet on the ground.
The Judge also saw to it that Sanders got some years tacked on for the non-strangulation part of the domestic violence incident, and sentenced him to 4 years hard labor totaling up to 29 years in prison.
