Shreveport Woman Wanted for Intentionally Damaging a Car

The Shreveport Police Department is seeking a woman following an investigation into two incidents involving intentional property damage.

Earlier this month, Officers responded to an incident that was called-in as a traffic accident. After checking security camera footage, investigators determined the collision seemed to have been intentional.

Video evidence showed a gray Ford Escape allegedly leaving its lane of travel and intentionally hitting the front of the victim’s vehicle before fleeing the scene. Damage to the victim’s vehicle was estimated to exceed $1,000.

Investigators learned that Katelyn Renee Smith and the victim had reportedly been involved in an ongoing personal dispute.

The following morning, Smith allegedly came back to the apartment complex and caused more damage to the victim’s windshield with a blunt object. Investigators said the second incident was corroborated by both a witness and security camera footage.

Video showed the same gray Ford Escape circling the parking lot before stopping near the victim’s car, followed by several loud smashing sounds consistent with an object striking the windshield.

Detectives made several attempts to contact Smith during the investigation but were not able to get in touch with her.

Based on the evidence gathered, investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Smith.

· Felony Criminal Damage to Property

· Hit-and-Run Driving

· Misdemeanor Criminal Damage to Property
