Shreveport Man Arrested for Firing a Gun in an Apartment Complex

Earlier this week, Shreveport Police responded to the Encore on Kingston Apartments, after receiving reports of a man firing multiple rounds inside the complex.

Officers arrived and quickly located the suspect, identified as Larry Gatson. Gatson was seen holding a black and red camouflage rifle in one hand and a magazine in the other.

SPD Officers immediately gave Gatson commands to put the firearm down. Gatson complied, placed the weapon on the ground, and was safely arrested without further incident.

SPD Violent Crimes Detectives responded and continued the investigation. Gatson was ultimately arrested and charged with four counts of aggravated criminal damage to property. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be filed.
