Shreveport Police Arrest Man for Burglarizing Construction Site
Last week, Shreveport Police got a call from construction workers on St. Vincent Avenue saying that they found a man trying to break in to one of their storage containers.
According to reports, once the man saw that he had been seen by the workers, he ran in to a nearby wooded area, leaving the truck he drove there in behind. SPD noted that the man's truck was loaded with tools and equipment belonging to the construction crew. There were also piles of equipment that he had stashed to come back and get later.
After getting a description from witnesses, K-9 Units were taken in to the search area to find the man. The wooded area was dark and overgrown, and filled with large rocks and railroad ties. After getting 50 yards in to the woods, K-9 Officer Enzo found the man laying down near a rock pile trying to hide.
The man was identified as 43 year-old Anthony Stout. Stout was taken to the hospital for an injury to his forearm and was then taken in to custody for burglary.
A further search in to Stout's background showed that he had warrants out in Bossier for burglary-related crimes.
From SPD:
"This case highlights the skill, determination, and teamwork of the SPD K-9 Unit and responding officers. SPD commends K-9 Enzo and his handler for their exceptional work in locating and apprehending a dangerous suspect."
