
Shreveport Man Arrested After Fondling Himself in Front of a Child
Shreveport Police arrested a local man Friday afternoon after he allegedly exposed himself to a teenager.
The incident occurred on July 17, 2026, around 1:12 p.m. Officers responded to a call regarding indecent exposure in the 500 block of East 72nd Street.
Shreveport Officer Confronts Suspect on Scene
When police arrived, they located 42-year-old Christopher Lofton, who matched the suspect description given by the caller.

According to police reports, an officer approaching Lofton observed his genitals exposed. Lofton followed police commands to cover himself and secure his clothing.

A resident at the scene told officers that her 13-year-old son was cutting the grass when the incident happened. She stated that Lofton entered their yard with his genitals exposed and began touching himself.
Suspect Faces Felony Obscenity Charges
Authorities took Lofton into custody and charged him with one count of obscenity.
Under Louisiana Revised Statute 14:106, an obscenity charge includes the intentional exposure of genitals in a public place or view when the conduct is sexually motivated, appeals to a prurient interest, or is patently offensive.
Shreveport Police reminds citizens that if you witness someone perfoming any lewd or lascivious behavior, do not approach the individual, but rather call 911cto report it.
