
Shreveport Man Charged for Brutal Domestic Violence and Shooting
Shreveport Police Detectives have charged a man in connection with a violent domestic incident involving his pregnant live-in girlfriend.
Investigators found that 20 year-old Malachi Wilson repeatedly punched the victim, who was around two months pregnant, during an altercation inside a home. The victim attempted to escape by locking herself inside a bathroom, but, according to reports Wilson forced open the door and continued punching her in the head and face.
Wilson then allegedly got a gun from the kitchen and shot around six rounds into an interior wall while several family members and children were inside. Everyone was able to get out of the house and contact emergency services.
Wilson was later arrested on unrelated charges. During an interview at the Caddo Correctional Center, investigators said Wilson admitted to the physical altercation and firing the weapon inside the home.
Wilson has been charged with:
• Four counts of Domestic Abuse Battery with Child Endangerment
• One count of Domestic Abuse Battery involving a Pregnant Victim
• One count of Illegal Use of a Dangerous Weapon
Wilson remains held at the Caddo Correctional Center.
