State Representative Cedric Glover says that the claims of of LSU Health Chancellor, Dr. G.E. Ghali , that the medical school is facing severe financial trouble are questionable, and that Dr. Ghali is "politicizing the relationship between the hospital and medical school."

In an interview with KTBS TV, Dr. Ghali said he "has concerns about the future of LSU Health amid rocky relations with University Health, and impending state budget cuts."

Ghali also told Channel 3, "You know we've had several students that wanted to come to school here that have decided to go elsewhere. Either to New Orleans or Tulane or out of state because they're unsure of whether the schools going to be open or not,"

Glover told 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty that 'the fiscal health of the medical school has little, if anything, to do with Biomedical research Foundation or University Health."
