In a notice from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, we learn that a small section of LA 159 (Lewisville Road) in Minden, will need to be closed to all traffic for a number of hours this coming Wednesday, January 21.

According to DOTD, the closure of LA 159 between US 79 (Main St.) and East & West Street will be in place from approximately 8:00 am to 4:30 pm for this one day only.

For those wondering about the need for this closure, DOTD says that crews will be working in the area to remove a dead tree from the right-of-way and in an effort to protect motorists and the work crew, the closure is necessary.

This will be a total road closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.

Of course, this work will be performed "Weather Permitting", so any inclement weather in the area could delay, extend, or alter in other ways the scheduled work day/hours.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
