Shreveport’s SPAR Gets a New Home on Texas Avenue
Shreveport leaders have agreed to buy a property on Texas Avenue to house some administrative staff of SPAR. Currently, some of these workers are located at the Stageworks building in downtown Shreveport.
But Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is taking over Stageworks in a lease deal with the city. As part of that deal, Jackson agreed to help the city fund space where these workers could relocate.

City Confirms Texas Avenue Building Purchase for SPAR
City officials tell KEEL News the city is buying a building at 856 Texas Avenue to be used specifically for Shreveport Public Assembly and Recreation (SPAR) administrative offices. The building will serve as the central office for SPAR’s Recreation and Athletics Divisions management team, consolidating operations into one location.
This new location will also function as a hub where residents can register for recreational and activities for participants.
Purchase Price and Funding Breakdown
The city council has approved a deal to buy the building for $465,000. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is chipping in $250,000 of that money to help get a spot for those SPAR workers. But the city will own the building and will now be responsible for paying $215,000 dollars.

Building Size and Planned Renovations
The property at 856 Texas Avenue includes a 6,000-square-foot building. Mayor Tom Arceneaux tells KEEL News the property has plenty of parking behind the building to make it easy to access for the public and the SPAR staffers.
The city is budgeting about $75,000 to take care of renovations that are needed. The upgrades will include improvements to the inside of the building, IT upgrades and system updates.
No move in date has been announced.
