Shreveport Violent Crimes Unit Captures Firearms, Drugs and Suspects

A coordinated law enforcement operation at the Stone Vista Apartments resulted in the recovery of firearms, narcotics, and the arrest of two suspects on Wednesday afternoon.

The raid took place at 541 E. Stoner Avenue around 1:30 p.m. on January 14, was the culmination of a joint effort between the Shreveport Police Department’s Warrants Unit, the Violent Crimes Abatement Team (VCAT), the Shreveport City Marshal’s Office, and the Office of Juvenile Justice.

Shreveport Investigation Stemmed from Armed Encounter

The search warrant was issued following a high-stakes incident on January 12. According to police reports, officers responded to a call involving armed individuals who fled the scene upon their arrival. While one suspect was captured during the initial chase, another managed to evade police, sparking the follow-up investigation that led to Wednesday's tactical operation.

Contraband Seized and Suspects Detained

Once the operational plan was finalized, officers executed the warrant and detained two individuals found inside the residence. During the subsequent search, investigators recovered a cache of firearms and a significant quantity of marijuana.

Police officials noted that the operation was part of an ongoing proactive strategy to curb gun violence and remove illegal weapons from the streets of Shreveport.
