Shreveport Man Arrested for Catalytic Converter Theft
Earlier this month, the Shreveport Police began an investigation into the theft of multiple catalytic converters from a business on Aero Drive.
Yesterday, detectives did a follow-up investigation in the 500 block of Calhoun Street. At that location, SPD found two cars believed to have been used in the thefts parked on a vacant lot.
One car was occupied by a man and woman when the Detectives arrived. The other car was unoccupied. Through video surveillance, detectives identified Jericko Miller as a suspect in the thefts.
Miller was seen on surveillance footage after attempting to remove another catalytic converter and was sitting in the driver’s seat of the car.
During the investigation, SPD found several reciprocating saws, saw blades, and a floor jack. While searching the cars prior to towing, officers found other tools used in catalytic converter thefts. Six stolen catalytic converters were found in Miller's car.
From SPD:
"Jericko Miller was transported to the Shreveport City Jail and will be transferred to the Caddo Correctional Center. He has been charged with twelve counts of theft of catalytic converters.
The investigation remains ongoing."
