
Official Summer Is Weeks Away But Louisiana Is Already Boiling
Looking at a traditional calendar, summer doesn't officially arrive until Sunday, June 21, but with the weather we've had lately, apparently no one told Mother Nature that it wasn't time yet.

If you've been watching The Weather Channel's forecast, you've seen the daily highs pushing into the low to mid-90's and if you've been outdoors in the late afternoon or early evening, you've felt every degree.
Doing some yardwork yesterday afternoon, I sweated so much, my wife told me to just throw away my shorts and tee-shirt. She said she'd never get the odor out of those and it would be much simpler to just buy new clothes.
I did see the National Weather Service's prediction through mid-June and they are expecting it to be warmer than normal. So this fun will continue. However, they also said it would be "wetter" than normal, so maybe we'll have some brief periods of relief.

Again, it's still not summer, but we're already dealing with temps like this, so I'm really apprehensive about what July and August will bring. Scares me to think that maybe Al Gore wasn't a total goof ball with his "Global Warming" horror stories.
Course, here in the Bayou State, we know how to handle bad weather. We laugh at the heat! For crying out loud, we throw parties while looking straight into the eye of a hurricane, so a little heat wave doesn't scare us.
