Shreveport Man Arrested for Indecent Behavior, Solicitation of a Minor

The Shreveport Police Department has arrested 32-year-old Gelynn Handy on multiple felony charges involving a minor. Handy has been charged with:

• Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile
• Computer-Aided Solicitation of a Minor

following an intensive investigation by local detectives.

Forensic Interview Sparks Investigation 

The investigation was launched after a 13-year-old victim participated in a forensic interview, during which she disclosed details of a sexual assault. Following the interview, detectives gathered evidence to secure arrest warrants for Handy. The initial warrant was signed on May 11, 2026. 

Suspect Booked into Caddo Correctional Center 

On May 30, 2026, Handy was taken into custody and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center. His bond has been set at $250,000.

The Shreveport Police Department released a statement commending the detectives and officers involved in the case, adding, "Protecting children remains one of our highest priorities, and we will continue to aggressively pursue those who seek to exploit minors."
