A Shreveport State Senator wants to cut the state income tax, from 6% to 4%.  This would trim taxes for those who make more than $50,000 dollars a year.

LSU economics professor Jim Richardson says this could cost the state $250 million dollars.

Shreveport Senator Barrow Peacock, has pre-filed the bill.  It would also trim taxes for couples making over $100,000 dollars.  Peacock thinks the change would generate more business.   But Richardson says it's a big gamble.
