Barrow Peacock: How We Can Finish I-49

State Senator Barrow Peacock talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about his plan to fund state highways and, more specifically, build Shreveport's Interstate 49 "inner city connector."

Peacock tells KEEL listeners that the state could fund the unfinished portion of the highway - and pay for other upgrades across the state - if Louisiana would adopt a Texas plan, "dedicating a half penny to infrastructure." Peacock points out that the state now has the .45 cent sales tax, in addition to a budget surplus, "So, why not consider rededicating that point four five towards roads and bridges in our state?"
