Do you believe in UFO’s? This topic will get folks talking. Many will say there has to be life out there. Others might claim it’s just kooky talk. Who knows. Over the past 20-30 years there have been many reported UFO sightings from Shreveport.
Reports from Louisiana come from all parts of the state. The most recent was on May 5 in Houma. The object was described as a “tear shaped UFO over our airbase.”
There was another report filed by a witness in Franklinton dating back to March. It describes the object as “2 triangle shaped craft moving very slowly 20 ft above the treetops.”
Do Americans Believe in UFO's?
A Gallup survey from 2021 shows 40% of Americans think there’s something to UFO’s. This is up from 33% from just a couple of years before that. But half of Americans say most of these sightings can be attributed to reasonable explanation.
What Does the Government Say About These UFO Reports?
Less than a year ago, the Pentagon announced that most of the sightings of what is now called unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs) can be attributed to drones, balloons, starlink or other normal objects in the sky. But the federal report does say many of these reports have no real explanation.
What Part of the Country Has the Most UFO Sightings?
California leads the nation. In fact, a large percent of the sightings are in the western states. This has a lot to do with less light pollution in many of these places that are more rural with wide open spaces.

Louisiana has only had about 1200 reported UFO sightings compared to 16,000 in California and This data is collected by the National UFO Reporting Center, which counts on volunteers to evaluate the reports and try to determine if the reports are credible.
