Shreveport Police Arrest Jewella Avenue Shooting Suspect

Shreveport Police officers responded to a shooting in the 4900 block of Jewella Avenue.

Arriving officers located a female suffering from a gunshot injury to the lower body. The female did not appear to be the intended target of the shooting. She was transported to a local hospital with what was described as a non-life-threatening injury.

Investigators with the Violent Crimes and Crime Scene Units were summoned to the scene. Through their on-going investigation detectives were able to obtain information that led them to determine that Traven Washington (04/03/84) was allegedly responsible for the shooting.

On June 2nd, 2022, Washington was arrested for one count of attempted second degree murder. He was booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
