Shreveport Police Arrest Teen After Being Shot During Gunfight
Just after midnight on Sunday Shreveport Police were called to a shooting on Braebrook. SPD pulled up to the location and found a man who had been shot in the lower body. The man was 18 year-old Jayden Hill, and he was immediately taken to the hospital to be treated.
Once Hill was stable SPD Detectives were able to talk to him. Hill's story was he was driven to a house by a person named "Monroe" and another unknown man. Hill said he got out of the car and walked up to the house to get a WiFi signal on his phone. Hill said at that point a fight broke out between Hill and another man, when someone pulled a gun.
After that, Hill went and got his own gun, and a shootout went down. After everyone ran off and Hill was injured, he tossed the gun in a trashcan.
After SPD was able to dive in to the investigation, they found out that the real story, was the shooting was a drug-deal gone wrong. Hill was arrested for Illegal Use of Weapons and Obstruction of Justice.
From SPD:
"The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with additional information is urged to contact the Shreveport Police Department at (318) 673-7300 or Caddo Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373."
