Earlier this month, Michael Cobb went to a local pawn shop and was seen browsing the jewelry counter. When an employee went to assist Cobb, he asked to see a ring from the display. When Cobb received the ring, he asked to see another item in the display.

When the employee went to get the item for Cobb, he allegedly switched the ring the pawn shop employee gave him with a similar-looking fake ring. Cobb is believed to have done this trick before with other shops before leaving the store without buying anything.

As SPD was reviewing the security footage, they saw Cobb in the store the previous day where he appeared to be filming the jewelry display. Detectives think this was done in preparation for the ring switch the next day.

From SPD:

"The stolen jewelry included rings valued at $1,999.00 and $2,499.99.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Michael Cobb is urged to contact the Shreveport Police Department at 318-673-7300 or Caddo Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373."
