Shreveport Man Arrested After Fleeing from Traffic Stop
SHREVEPORT, LA-
Shreveport Police Apprehend Suspect Attempting to Flee Following Traffic Stop
The Shreveport Police Department successfully arrested 25-year-old Xavier Johnson after a traffic stop escalated into a pursuit on Friday.
The incident unfolded when officers attempted to conduct a routine traffic stop, and Johnson, identified as the driver, fled the scene. What ensued was a brief but intense pursuit that came to an abrupt halt when Johnson leaped from the moving vehicle, causing it to collide with a privacy fence.
Following the crash, SPD swiftly apprehended Johnson without further incident. Upon investigation, Johnson was found to be in possession of a Schedule One narcotic, leading to additional charges.
Xavier Johnson now faces multiple charges including:
- - Possession with intent to distribute a Schedule One narcotic
- - Resisting an officer
- - Hit-and-run driving
- - Reckless operation of a vehicle
- - Simple property damage
- - Aggravated flight from a vehicle
Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
