
Child Critically Hurt in Shreveport Fire Has Died
SHREVEPORT, LA - The tragedy in Shreveport from Sunday gets worse. KEEL News has confirmed a 7-year-old girl fighting for her life has died. The child was injured in a house fire Sunday in the MLK neighborhood in Shreveport.
The fire started at about 6:30 in the morning in the 2400 block of Kemp Lane. The blaze started in the front room of the house. Fire Chief Clarence Reese Jr tells KEEL News the 7-year-old actually called her Mother after the fire started. The Mom called 9-1-1. When firefighters arrived they found 4 victims inside the home. The young girl and her 5-year-old sister were visiting their grandmother and great grandmother when this tragedy happened.
The younger child and the two adult women were pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital on Sunday. The younger child has been identified as 5-year-old Ne-Vaeh Garner.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause of this blaze.
