When SPD got to the scene, they found the body of an elderly woman. Evidence suggested that the woman had been walking west on Laurel Street when a car travelling in the same direction hit her, and didn't stop.

The woman was found in a nearby vacant lot with visible injuries and signs of trauma. She was pronounced dead at the scene, and the Caddo Coroner came to take the body.
