Several local businesses have gotten millions from the federal government as part of the Paycheck Protection Program.

Here are some of the biggest recipients in our area:

Fibrebond in Minden got between $5 and 10 million. Laboratory Management Services of Shreveport also got between $5 and 10 million.

Centenary College got between $2 and 5 million dollars. Attorneys Gordon McKernan and Dudley DeBossier were some of the biggest recipients of the money. Each law firm got between $2 and 5 million dollars. Morris Bart got between $2 and 5 million and another one for between $350,000-1 million dollars. KTBS got between $1 and 2 million.

Almost all local car dealers got over a million dollars through the program.

The Shreveport Symphony received $150,000-350,000 dollars.  The Shreveport Aquarium got more than $150,000. The Shreveport Bossier Rescue Mission got $150,000-350,000. Several churches got money from the program including $350,000-1 million to the Catholic Diocese of Shreveport, $150,000-350,000 to Shreveport Community Church, Brookwood Baptist Church was given $150,000-350,000, First Presbyterian Church also got  $150,000-350,000, the same amount went to Broadmoor United Methodist Church. Those are just some of the churches on the list.

Several private schools received money and dozens of local restaurants were awarded cash through the program as well.
