Louisiana’s John Kennedy Blasts Democrats COVID Relief Bill
United States Senator from Louisiana is never one to mince words. Whether he's taking on antagonistic anchors on CNN or in the friendlier confines of Fox, the former State Treasures attacks an issue head on, blending a lawyer's analysis with his homespun humor.
And this week Louisiana's junior Senator is on the attack again, lambasting the Democrats $1,9 trillion COVID relief bill, going as far to say that the pork-filled legislation was so bad it could only be improved with a paper shredder.
In a Fox News appearance earlier this week, Kennedy pointed out that only a small portion of the nearly two trillion is going to real COVID relief. The Senator's interview was quoted at breitbart.com:
“Look at President Biden’s...bill. He gives money to people...who are in our country illegally. Well, that’s obviously an incentive to people to come here illegally and a disincentive to people to follow the rules."
But Kennedy wasn't done, then hitting hard at Dem leaders Chuck Schuler and Nancy Pelosi for ignoring the American people and throwing cash at their special interests.
“It’s chock full of spending, pouring billions of dollars to states and local governments that have seen their revenues go up, billions to pension programs, billions to schools with no requirement that they open. It’s an orgy of pork, and (Democrats) are using a so-called coronavirus bill as an excuse to fund it."
And no interview with Kennedy would be complete without a verbal skewering of his opponents, but wrapped in his sweet southern drawl.
"President Biden said we want you, us, the Republicans, to meet halfway. If that’s the case, he’s a damn poor judge of distance. This bill is dreadful. The only way I know how to improve it is with a shredder. It’s not even a coronavirus bill. Calling this a coronavirus bill is like calling Harvey Weinstein a feminist.”
