We may currently be in the "dog days of summer," but that just makes us look forward to fall even more. There’s just something special about fall. And it’s not just the cooler temperatures.
Most people think of spring as the season of new beginnings. But, you could really say that about fall… maybe even more so.
Fall marks the beginning of yes, cooler temperatures. And after another long, hot, Louisiana summer, there’s nothing better than being able to open your windows at night and enjoying that brisk fall air.
Fall is the Real Season of New Beginnings
Fall marks the beginning of football season. Whether you’re a Saints fan, Cowboys fan, LSU, Arkansas, or Texas, there’s nothing like the excitement and optimism that comes with the beginning of a new season.
Fall also marks the beginning of the holiday season. Beginning with Labor Day, ( quite a stretch to include that with the “holiday season,” but, well... technically… And then once Halloween gets here, it seems like it’s no time at all before it’s New Year’s Day.
What Does the Farmer's Almanac Say About this Fall in Louisiana?
So, after another hot summer, what can we expect in the way of temps and forecasts when it comes to this fall? According to the Farmer’s Almanac, we’re going to experience a warmer than normal fall in 2025, with below normal rainfall here in North Louisiana.
What to Expect for September
September will have above normal temperatures before becoming near normal in October.
As far as rainfall, September is expected to have above normal temperatures and below normal rainfall, and it should end up cooling off more toward the end of the month.
What to Expect for October
October is expected to have pretty much normal temperatures in the south, while it will be drier here in the north. Expect mostly sunny and mild days, a few scattered showers and a cooler finish.
And though the Farmer’s Almanac has an uncanny knack to be amazingly accurate, keep in mind that these are long range forecasts, and of course, actual conditions can vary.
