Love Halloween? LSU Shreveport To Offer Trunk Or Treat

LSU Shreveport's Aspiring Educators program invites the Shreveport community to their annual Trunk or Treat this October.

This year's Trunk or Treat will be once again held at the LSUS Pioneer Heritage Parking Lot on October 24th and will be completely open to the public. The event will be open from 5 pm to 7 pm that Thursday.

Families are invited to dress up in their Halloween costumes to come enjoy the Halloween spirit and plenty of Halloween candy. Those interested in participating in the "Trunk" end of the event can sign up by contacting Lisa Cooper with LSU Shreveport, or by scanning the QR code on the promotional flyer.

Aspiring Educators and The Classroom

The event will be put on by the Aspiring Educators program, an organization and union tailored to pre-service teachers by providing them with a network of support and resources. Aspiring Educators touts a membership count of 40,000 pre-service teachers and 3 million teachers and school faculty.

The Louisiana Aspiring Educators (LAE) organization states its mission is to promote justice and excellence in public education. Members of LAE include classroom teachers, education support professionals (bus drivers, cafeteria staff, custodians, etc.), retired educators, and students.

LAE encourages new members to join as a member of the program with benefits such as discounts provided to members at stores like Office Depot and on goods and services like ink cartridges, hotel bookings, entertainment discounts (theme parks, live shows, etc.), and other insurance and financial benefits that can be found on the LAE website at lae.org.
