State Senator Ryan Gatti talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about his efforts to keep Minden's Fibrebond Corporation from moving from its Minden location to east Texas.

Gatti tells KEEL listeners that he has been in discussions with Fibrebond President and CEO Graham Walker since earlier this year, looking to secure funding from the state to improve area infrastructure, specifically a number of bridges near the Minden plant, which currently are forcing Fibrebond's trucks to make a near 250 mile detour to the eats before they can head west to make deliveries.

Gatti also credits State Rep. Wayne McCahen with coming up with a temporary solution of using a route through the area's Camp Minden National Guard Base, a move supported by Gatti and Fibrebond's Walker.

Walker has given an October 1 deadline for officials to commit to funding and come up with a solution to the infrastructure problems.
