Fibrebond CEO Talks About Critical Needs to Keep Company in Minden
The CEO of Fibrebond in Minden exploring the option of moving the company out of Minden and into East Texas. CEO Graham Walker says trucks hauling products from Fibrebond to Texas are now having to make a detour of 247 miles because of troubled bridges.
Walker says Fibrebond now has only one route for shipping projects and that is way too far out of the way.
State and local leaders have been working to find a solution to this problem. But in the meantime, Fibrebond has started looking at alternative locations in East Texas for a new home. This would cost Minden 750 jobs and a huge loss for the economy of Webster Parish.
KEEL News talked with Graham Walker about this problem to find out if this is a real threat.
Fibrebond plans to make a decision by Oct. 1.
