Convicted Felon with Firearm Arrested by Shreveport Police

On June 4, 2023, around 6:30 p.m. Shreveport Police Patrol Officers conducted a traffic stop Alto Vista Street and Clarke Street. Officers contacted Justin Sloan (10-31-89) inside the vehicle and found he was in possession of a firearm.
Further investigation into the matter revealed that Sloan was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to being a convicted felon for prior felony offenses. Sloan was arrested on one count of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
The firearm was seized as evidence.
We are required to advise that all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
