Several Bossier Businesses Destroyed in Weekend Fire
SHREVEPORT, LA - Tragedy for several business owners in Bossier City. The Fire Department responded to a report of a commercial fire at about 10:30 Saturday morning. Firefighters who rolled up on the scene could see heavy smoke and flames.
The Fire Captain called for a second alarm, realizing help was going to be needed to put out this massive blaze.
About 18 units and more than 35 firefighters were on the scene to get this fire out. The blaze started at the Benton Road Auto Repair shop in the 2200 block of Benton Rd.
It quickly spread to four neighboring businesses:
A salon, grooming shop, pest exterminator along with an All State Insurance Agency. All of these businesses suffered either heavy damage or were totally destroyed.
Benton Road was closed to traffic while firefighters battled this blaze. The owner of the Auto Repair Shop is Mr. James Scotto, it is a third generation business.
No one was injured in the blaze and no firefighters were hurt putting it out.
Bossier City Fire Prevention Investigators were called to the scene to try to figure out how the blaze started.
