Bishop Brandon, Praise Temple Set for 20th School Backpack Giveaway [VIDEO]

Bishop Larry Brandon from Shreveport's Praise Temple Full Gospel Baptist Cathedral talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about this year's backpack and school supplies giveaway.

This year's Prayer and Backpack giveaway will be taking place today (Wednesday) at Praise Temple on Greenwood Road. "Doors open at 5," says Brandon, "Prayer begins at 6, 7pm the distribution begins."

Brandon tells KEEL listeners about the history of his event. "We began twenty years ago. We decided we would pull the community together, including politicians, public servants, to pray against the evils in the land. In that first prayer we also gave away backpacks because we wanted the children to come to prayer. We gave away 500 the first year. This year we're giving away 3,000."
