Shreveport Man Arrested After Hit-and-Run Injures Mother and Two Children
Shreveport Police have arrested a man after a hit-and-run that left a 10 year-old girl with life-threatening injuries and injured her mother and younger brother.
Yesterday, SPD Officers were called to Hearne Avenue and Morningside Drive after a vehicle hit three pedestrians. A witness reported that his wife and their two children were crossing the street when a black vehicle hit them and fled the scene.
Shreveport Fire Department EMS transported all three victims to Ochsner LSU Health. The 10 year-old girl sustained life-threatening injuries. Her 5 year-old brother and 28 year-old mother were reported to be in stable condition with minor injuries.
The investigation indicated that a black 2023 Toyota Corolla was driving southbound on Hearne Avenue when it hit the family. Officers later found the vehicle on Waggoner Avenue. Investigators documented the scene and vehicle and recovered video footage.
49 year-old Marcus C. Lacour was identified as the driver and taken into custody without incident at a nearby address. Investigators also found out that his driver’s license was suspended and that the vehicle was uninsured.
From SPD:
"Following an interview at the Shreveport Police Department Traffic Bureau, Lacour was arrested on one felony count and two misdemeanor counts of Hit-and-Run Driving.
The crash remains under investigation and more charges could be added!"
