Bishop Larry Brandon, Pastor of Shreveport's Praise Temple Full Gospel Baptist Cathedral, talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about his program to feed area schoolkids during the Coronavirus shutdown.

Brandon tells KEEL listeners that his church, along with the Northwest Louisiana Community Development Corporation and the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana are joining forces to feed the students of both Caddo and Bossier parishes.

Brandon says that his group is filling the gap caused by both districts move to forego distribution of free meals for students in response to Governor John Bel Edwards’ "stay-at-home" order in an effort to combat the spread of the Coronavirus. Both school districts will resume their own meals programs on Monday, March 30.

Grab-and-go bagged meals will continue to be distributed at Praise Temple, in partnership with the Northwest Louisiana Community Development Corporation and the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana. Meals will be available from 11 a.m until 1 p.m. beginning on Tuesday at 4725 Greenwood Road.

The free grab-and-go bagged meals are currently being given out Monday through Friday from 11am til 1pm at Praise Temple, 4725 Greenwood Road in Shreveport.
