Billy Snow Explains Caddo School District ‘Re-Imagining’ Initiative

Re-Engage, Recruit, Re-Ignite, Re-Invest. Those are the key elements of the new Re-Imagining Caddo Schools campaign.

Billy Snow, the school district's new Transformation and Innovation Officer, says the goal is not to just bring the schools up to "passing" level, but to turn them into "A" and "B" schools.

The program is primarily targeted at 10 chronically under-performing schools. Superintendent Lamar Goree thinks it will spread to other schools parish-wide.

Dr. Goree says that realistically it will take three to five years to completely turn around the failing schools, but adds that he expects to see major improvements in the first year of the program.

As a major component of the Re-Imagining initiative, new principals have been chosen for the ten schools that make up what's being called the "Transformation Zone."
