YWCA's LEAD Program is Changing Young Women's Lives

Dr. Belinda Robertson, Executive Director of Shreveport's YWCA, talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the Y's LEAD program, designed to empower pre-teen girls in a number of developmental areas.

Robertson tells KEEL listeners that the program, an acronym for leadership, empowerment and development, helps girls develop goals and learn to make choices that help to achieve them. These include self-respect, healthy relationships, love and dating, drug and alcohol abuse awareness and social media and online safety.

Dr. Roiberson also gives information on how to get in touch with the YWCA for anyone interested in having LEAD representatives visit their school or organization.
