On Wednesday (5/18/22) Shreveport Police Department held a memorial ceremony in honor of officers who have died while on duty. The ceremony took place at the Riverfront in Downtown Shreveport on Clyde Fant Parkway.

The ceremony began with the presentation of the flags by SPD officers. Throughout the ceremony, the likes of Chief Wayne Smith, and Bossier Mayor Tommy Chandler stood at the podium to speak.

The SPD took time to honor all Officers who had fallen in the line of duty. During the ceremony many of the families who these Officers had left behind were called upon to be honored as well.

Many locals attended the memorial, and many who could not attend were able to live stream the event on SPD's Facebook page. Be sure and watch the event here, and see all the touching moments of the ceremony.
