Two Burglars Caught in the Act by Shreveport Police

On January 18, 2025, at approximately 8:26 AM, Shreveport Police Department officers responded to a burglary in progress at 8950 Gray Street. The homeowner reported seeing two unknown males inside his residence without consent. Observing the situation from across the street, the homeowner provided critical information to responding officers.

Upon arrival, the homeowner informed officers that the front door was unlocked and granted them permission to enter the home. He confirmed that he did not know the suspects and intended to press charges.

Officers entered the home and discovered one suspect, identified as Nathan Carson, lying partially under the bed in the master bedroom in a fetal position. Carson complied with officers’ commands and was taken into custody.

As officers continued their search, they located a second suspect, identified as Stephen Mason, hiding behind a shower curtain in the bathroom. Mason was wearing a red hoodie and was seated in the bathtub. He also complied with commands and was taken into custody.

During the investigation, it was determined that Carson and Mason entered the home through an unlocked back door. Carson was charged with Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling and Possession of Burglary Tools. Additionally, it was discovered that Carson had an active warrant for theft from Bossier Parish.

Mason admitted to entering the residence and revealed a history of prior burglary arrests in 2012, 2016, 2019, and 2021. He was also charged with Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling.
