Shreveport Woman Arrested for Utility Fraud Via Identity Theft
Shreveport Police have arrested a woman for alleged using of a former client’s personal information to establish utility service without his authorization.
The investigation began in April, after the victim reported receiving a SWEPCO bill with a balance of $2,302.40 for an address where he had never lived. The charges involved service provided from September 2025 through January 2026.
Detectives were able to get utility records showing the account was established using the victim’s personal information. Account records, recorded customer service calls, and associated contact information linked Gabrielle Moore to the account.
Investigators also found out Moore previously worked as the victim’s caregiver and had access to his personal information through that employment. During a double-blind photo lineup, the victim identified Moore as his former private care giver.
Based on the evidence, detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Moore with Identity Theft.
Shreveport Police arrested Moore on over the weekend, and she was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center.
