Tourism: Boom in Marshall Means Dollars
The City of Marshall is growing as a center for economic activity. As events keep popping up officials with the Marshall Convention and Visitors Bureau hope to keep going.
They say it's a fun time, and a good place and they're trying to take care of everybody and want everybody to be happy. Geraldine Mauthe shared information from three month's of events during a recent meeting.
One of the big successes was the Eastern Star Masonic Lodge workshop held in March. It was the second one in less than six months.
Wiley College Founder’s Week was also a busy time, pulling in alumni, supporters and friends of the college.
There was a groundbreaking for the Long Student Center, and they have two multi-million dollar projects underway at Wiley, which should be a big boost to the Marshall economy.
The Gold Wings rally returned to Marshall a couple of weekends ago for the seventh time in eight years, bringing in some 646 Gold Wing members and 40 vendors in Marshall.
