Shreveport police have now charged two local teens and an adult in connection with last week's home invasion robbery, car theft and residential burglary in the Pierremont neighborhood.

On September 11, patrol officers learned that someone had burglarized a home in the 300 block of Berkshire Place the previous day, and made off with the victim's car keys and vehicle. A few days later, the stolen car was found parked in the driveway of a home in the 1900 block of Clanton Street. Police arrested 20-year-old Demetri Thomas for illegal possession of stolen things.

Further investigation linked a 16-year-old male and 17-year-old Jessica Mathews to the break-in. They were also linked to the home invasion robbery of an elderly man a few days after the initial break-in at another home in the 300 block of Berkshire. In that incident, the pair is accused of asking the victim to use his phone, then beating the man and running off with his wallet.

Police have charged Mathews for principal to armed robbery. She's been booked into the Shreveport City Jail. The 16-year-old is charged with home invasion, armed robbery, motor vehicle theft and burglary of an inhabited dwelling. He's jailed at the Caddo Juvenile Detention Center.
