Home Invasion and Child Abuse Arrest in Shreveport
The Shreveport Police Department has arrested a woman following a home invasion and child abuse incident that occurred on the 2700 block of Randolph Street.
Officers initially responded to a report of a missing child and made contact with 29-year-old Kenyana Fuggins. During the investigation, officers reported that the child had run away due to allegations of physical violence at home. The child sought refuge at a neighboring residence. According to witness statements and evidence gathered, Fuggins forcibly entered the neighboring home and began assaulting the child in the presence of the property owners.
Due to the injuries sustained by the child and corroborating witness accounts, Fuggins was arrested and charged with one count of Home Invasion and one count of Cruelty to a Juvenile.
The Shreveport Police Department reminds parents that while structure and discipline are important in raising children, any form of punishment must be reasonable. Intent to cause harm cannot be present in the discipline of a child.
