Stephen Waguespack, President and CEO of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry, tells 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty that Governor John Bel Edwards will continue to push for more new taxes, no matter the final numbers on the state's budget shortfall.

Waguespack tells KEEL listeners that he expects the Governor to propose - once again - for an increased personal income tax "which provides a reliable funding stream for government."

The LABI boss adds that right now "it's the calm before the storm" when it comes to budgeting and taxes and that the strategy of both parties in Baton Rouge will depend on figures released next week by the legislature's Revenue Estimating Conference.
