Where Is Louisiana on List of States Hit By Tornadoes?
SHREVEPORT, LA - When I find data that amazes me, I just have to share it. New tornado data has been released and I was completely surprised to see what state tops the list for the most tornadoes so far this year. The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center says there were 1167 tornadoes confirmed in the United States so far this year.
Where Is Louisiana on the Tornado List?
You will probably be surprised by the states at the top of the list for the most tornadoes. In fact, I was shocked to see the state at the top of the list. Louisiana does not make the top 10 list. In fact, Louisiana is actually closer to the bottom of this list. The Bayou State has had 30 tornadoes so far this year.
What States Have Had No Tornadoes?
West Virginia, Utah, Rhode Island, Hawaii, Connecticut, Alaska are the only states on this list. Arizona, Maine and Oregon only had 1 tornado. Several other states have had only a few tornadoes.
