State Representative Lance Harris tells 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty that Governor John Bel Edwards' claim of $600 million in state budget cuts in erroneous. The Pineville legislator says that the current administration is "finance swapping" and that no matter how Edwards spins it, "you can't fake the numbers."

Harris, who sits on the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget, questioned Jay Dardenne during hearings last August, at which time the state's Commissioner of Administration said the "swaps" in budgeting aren't really cuts at all.
Despite claims to the contrary by JBE and supporters in the legislature, Louisiana's general fund budget continues to rise, about 3.2% in recent years.
