State Representative elect Thomas Pressley talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about his first legislative term, which will begin when he and other legislators are sworn in in Baton Rouge on January 13.

Pressley, who will be replacing termed out legislator Thomas Carmody, will join a majority of Republicans - only two short of a veto proof "super majority" in the Louisiana House of Representatives.

Pressley tells KEEL listeners that it is the priority of the GOP majority to promote growth in the state by reducing taxes and regulations, long considered by businesses a boon to moving into Louisiana.

He also emphasizes the importance of passing tort reform legislation, repeating the oft-heard fact of Louisiana's draconian insurance system and litigation process.
