Stolen Valor- Stolen $8,500: Shreveport Police Seeking Suspect

The Shreveport Police Department is requesting the public’s help to identify a woman accused of impersonating another individual to steal thousands of dollars from a local financial institution.

According to investigators, the incident occurred on July 15, 2026, when the suspect entered BOM Bank at 4321 Youree Drive. Police report that the woman presented a fraudulent military identification card bearing the victim’s name and requested an $8,500 cash advance against a credit line attached to the account.

Believing the credential was authentic, bank tellers processed the request and handed over the funds.

Victim Discovers Unlawful Withdrawal

The fraud was uncovered after the victim noticed the unauthorized transaction and alerted authorities. The account holder confirmed they had not granted permission for anyone to access their account or withdraw money.

Police Condemn Use of Fake Military ID

Detectives expressed strong concern over the suspect's alleged method of deception, specifically the use of fake military credentials to carry out the theft. Department representatives emphasized that the credentials of U.S. Armed Forces service members are earned through immense sacrifice and service, making the use of military identity for criminal gain particularly egregious.
