Robert Young, Musical Director of Shreveport Little Theatre's production of "The Fantasticks", talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the play, the cast and the opening Thursday night.

"Tickets will go on sale on April 9 for Shreveport Little Theatre’s Mainstage production of The Fantasticks, a musical by Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones, directed by Richard Folmer, choreographed by Ginger Folmer, and musical direction by Robert Young.

 The Fantasticks is the world’s longest-running musical, featuring timeless classics like “Try to Remember,” the story focuses on two young lovers, their meddling fathers, and the journey we all must take through adolescence.  The musical opened on May 3, 1960 at the Sullivan Street Playhouse in Greenwich Village.
 
The creative team also includes Derek Shiplov and Alan Mathison, set design and construction, Julie Edwards, lighting design, Kandi Broughton, costumer, Gerry Castellani, properties master, and Ann Susman Kuperman, stage manager.
 
Performances are scheduled for April 18, 19, 20, 26, 27, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. and April 21, 28, 2019 at 2 p.m., at SLT, 812 Margaret Place.
 
Individual tickets are $25.  Student Rush tickets are available five-minutes before curtain time for $10 cash with student ID.
